WorldCard: Decentralization in Everyday Banking

The problem. Satoshi Nakamoto envisioned Bitcoin as decentralized electronic cash. Almost twenty years later, that idea remains far from everyday reality: speculation often overshadows payments. Stablecoins and crypto cards open a path to everyday use, but in custodial solutions, intermediaries retain control of the money and crypto serves merely as a funding method. Humanity stands at a crossroads, and WorldCard is here to take the right turn — bringing decentralization to banking and sharing value with users through Luma.

1. Our mission

Our mission is to preserve the simplicity of a familiar financial app, give people more control over their money and make decentralized payments part of everyday life.

For us, decentralization begins with self-custody and the freedom to use money without unnecessary intermediaries. At the core of WorldCard is a self-custodial wallet for depositing, holding and withdrawing stablecoins across popular networks. We aim to make moving funds between networks simple and affordable. On this foundation, we are developing ways to pay in the everyday economy: from exchanging stablecoins for local currency to QR payments and, in the future, crypto cards.

2. Sharing value with our community

Community is an essential part of Web3. Decentralization depends on people who believe in it and work together to build an alternative to the familiar financial system.

For us, the key difference between Web3 and Web2 is a fairer distribution of the value created. In the traditional banking model, profits are distributed primarily for the benefit of shareholders. We believe Web3 banking should return part of that value to the users who help create it.

Luma is our way of bringing this idea to life: an opportunity to get more from using WorldCard every day.

3. Farming Luma

Luma is the points program inside WorldCard. You can collect points through a free daily claim and eligible activities under the current program rules.

We call this farming: building up Luma at your own pace. Activities may have their own conditions and limits, shown in the app alongside the action itself.

4. From points to discoveries

Loot boxes are the next step for Luma. The idea is simple: use your collected points, open a box and discover the reward inside. A little curiosity and anticipation alongside everyday money matters.

This feature is in development. Before launch, we will publish the rewards, box prices, probabilities and redemption rules. This litepaper describes the direction, rather than promising specific prizes.

5. What comes next

First, a clear connection between participation, Luma and rewards. Over time, we want to explore more useful ways to use points within WorldCard.

One possibility is using Luma to help cover transaction gas. This is an idea under consideration, not an available feature.

6. Conclusion

More control over your money. A greater community share in the value of the product. More accessible decentralization. These are the core values of WorldCard. If this resonates with you, start farming Luma.
